try to be the best at what I do. To achieve that, I limit the scope of my consulting, both in subject matter and in type and number of clients. I believe that professionals get into trouble pretending to expertise that they do not have. I regularly turn down the opportunity to work on matters when I do not believe that my involvement will best serve my client.
Substantively, I work in the areas of recruitment and management of lawyers.
In a typical year, I work with no more than ten clients, all of which
are law firms with more than 300 lawyers, and most of which are firms
I have worked with in prior years. I am scrupulous about my clients’
needs for confidentiality. I do not speak to the press or to anyone
else about my work or disclose information I learn in my relationships
with my clients.

I work very closely with my clients and provide extraordinary service, both in quality and responsiveness. My clients participate actively as partners in arriving at solutions to the issues they face. I develop long-term relationships with clients that allow me to add greater value. Many of my clients become my friends.
Finally, I try to maintain a sense of perspective and humor. This leads to creative approaches and solutions that serve my clients well.
